Ms. Lynette Brice

Lynette Brice was born December 27,1958 to Joe L. and the late Christine Brice in Pacoima, California. She was the second oldest of twelve children. The Brice family moved to Alton, IL in 1963 where Lynette would attend and graduate from the Alton School district in 1977. She would continue her education graduating with her nursing degree as an LPN from Lewis & Clark College. Her career started as a private nurse for a family in Edwardsville, Illinois. She then became a surgical nurse at Christian NE Hospital in St. Louis, Missouri, and later becoming a nurse investigator for the Illinois Department of Rehabilitation, where she retired after many years of dedicated service. Lynette enjoyed life. She loved taking trips with family and friends, being with her grandchildren, as well as being a foster parent, which was her passion. She became a member of Calvary Baptist Church where both her faith in the Lord and volunteering grew. She was also a member of the American Legion Auxiliary, Know Your Worth Women’s Support Group, and many other community organizations. Brice; brother, Duane Brice; son, Reid Brice, and niece, Kinya Galloway. Lynette is survived by her father, Joe L. Brice; six daughters, Christina Brice-Barron, Tenisha Brice, Orielle Morrison, Sabrina Brice and Maleeya Chambers all of Alton, IL, and Merquette Roby of Godfrey, IL; two sons, Justin Goodman of Columbus, OH, and Devon Brice of Alton, IL; nineteen grandchildren, Evanna Brice of Bloomington, IL, Aniayah Collins of Chicago, IL, Zariah Williams, Zamareya Wallace, Serenity Brice, Monee’ Brice, Devan Brice Jr., Paige Brice, SanJuan Thurman, Devon Brice, Adrianna Brice, Zayla Thur- man, Maverick Brice, AJ, and Dakari Brice all of Alton, IL, Jae’la Goodman, Avery Goodman, Malia Goodman, Jynelle Goodman all of Columbus, OH; two great grandchildren, Niana, Jh’ream; five brothers, Joe E. (Cynthia) Brice of Cheltenham, MD, Dennis (Cheryl) Brice, Michael Brice all of Alton, IL, Dale (Madeliene) Brice of St. Louis, MO, and Gary (Karonica) Brice of Florida; five sisters, Fransetta Brice, Orvella Galloway, Allison (Anthony) Tolliver all of Alton, IL, Kimberly (Will) Hollis of Louisville, KY ,and Karen (Bernard) Phillips of Ft Gregg-Adams, VA; special friends and family, Sharon Jordan, La Gwenda Sims, Shirley Beard and Lois Wheeler.
