Carmen Rosalie Gaddy

Carman Rosalie Gaddy was born January 19, 1964, in Alton, Illinois to the union of Mr. Otis H. Gaddy Sr. and Mrs. Ruby R. (née Holliday) Gaddy. She was preceded in death by her parents; stepfather, Mt. James Musgrow; grandparents; three brothers, Otis H. Gaddy Jr., Terrance Gaddy Sr. and Mark “Al” Allan Gaddy. Carman accepted Christ into her life at an early age. She was baptized at Morning Star Missionary Baptist Church, circa. 1973. Carman received her formal education in the Alton Public School System. In 1995 Carman received her G.E.D., graduating as Valedictorian of her class. She went on to receive her sanitation certification and license, and culinary school. Carman has always worked in the food industry. She was a baker at the Alton Shop N Save, and later a Line Cook at the Argosy Casino Alton for 15 years before retiring. Carman was known to love Anita Baker, meeting her once and giving her a stick of Double Mint gum because she wasn’t going to risk losing her spot in line to buy a rose or teddy bear. She was also an avid reader. Her favorite writer was none other than Stephen King, reading every book he’s written and published. She enjoyed scratching off her lottery tickets. She was a true baseball lover- a die hard St. Louis Cardinals fan. You could hear her from outside, cheering or fussing at the tv. Cooking was her passion! Making peanut butter cookies with her children was one of her fondest memories. Carman Rosalie Gaddy 62, affectionately known as “Carmacita Rosalita” transitioned on Monday, March 9, 2026, at home with her children by her side. Although Carman was called home from this earthly world. Carman’s strength, compassion, and loving heart will live through her children, family, and friends. Carman leaves to cherish her memories her two children, Natashia Janay and Jason, both of Alton, Il., grandchildren, Kentez Jr. (Ki’Aira), Brandon, Syniaa, Jaycie, Ayron, and Jayden, all of Alton, Il.; her longtime partner, Marvin Ashford of St. Louis, MO;; siblings, Darlene Wigfall of Kansas City, MO, Gary (Melodie) Gaddy of Alton, Il., Marvin Gaddy of Kansas City, MO, Carol (Tommie) Lee of Alton, Il., Donnetta (Glen Sr.) of East Alton, Il., Jamiseen Mitchell of Houston, TX, Mitchell (Ann) Musgrow of Alton, Il., Myra Musgrow of Alton, Il., Joe (Donna) Musgrow of Kansas City, MO, Michael Musgrow of Alton, Il., Carol White and EnRico Gaddy, both of St. Louis, MO; Best Friend, Carletta Rhodes, as well as a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. Carman wanted to send a shout out to all of her Sullivan Drive Crew!
